We’re excited to announce our participation in the upcoming 20th Mansion in May Designer Showhouse and Gardens at Three Fields in Mendham, New Jersey. As one of the key participants, NatureScape will be showcasing our outdoor lighting design, illuminating Three Fields, the stunning French manor style home designed by New York architect Greville Rickard in 1928.

We’ve included more information about attending this year’s event with an expected 20,000 visitors and more than 1,000 volunteers who will work over 15,000 hours during the month of May. The event will run from May 1 to May 31, 2023, and all proceeds will support the expansion and modernization of the Institute of Bioskills Training and Innovation at Morristown Medical Center. We hope you will join us in supporting this important cause while experiencing the beauty of Three Fields. I look forward to seeing you there!

Mansion In May 2023

The Women's Association for Morristown Medical Center is proud to present its 20th Mansion in May Designer Showhouse and Gardens at Three Fields located in the Borough of Mendham, New Jersey. The 9,000 square foot stone, brick and tile-roofed French manor style home was designed by New York architect Greville Rickard for Benjamin Duncan Mosser and his wife, the former Florence Willets Mosford. Three Fields was designed and built between 1928 and 1930 and is beautifully situated on almost 36 acres of pastoral, rolling fields and features many architectural elements, including tall, steeply pitched tile roofs punctuated by dormers, wood casement windows (originally shuttered) and French doors that open to the formal gardens, ponds, and fields beyond. The facade, made up of several conjoined units - as if the house had been added to over the years - as well as roofs with built-in bumps and sags, all served to further project the romantic look of an elegant, long established country residence.

NatureScape’s Outdoor Lighting Design

Residents, visitors, and passers-by of this wonderful French manor style home will be greeted dramatically after dark to a warmly illuminated architectural masterpiece. A combination of wide wash light on the broad swatches of multi-colored brick, punctuated by soft columns of light on the corners, many adorned with limestone quoin, brings this old gem forward across a vast green lawn. Each of its unique features presents themselves as unique vignettes; from the motor court entrance flanked by old-growth pine trees, to the shorter, but no less interesting, ivy-covered walls. Finally, the steeply pitched rooflines result in a soaring brick canvas illuminated to accentuate the peaked elegance of Three Fields.
